This last year has not gone how it should have. Perhaps the mastertape of 2020 got left in the sunlight on the dashboard of some celestial being's minivan, and as a result, it got warped out of shape, thus explaining the world's current situation.
On behalf of whoever made that mistake, let me apologise for this error. This year was supposed to have been a year consisting of only good things for you. Instead, year 26 of The Book of Louis has been a year of ups and downs...
Let's be honest: Year 27 is not starting under the best of circumstances, either, but things are looking brighter in many ways! With vaccines just around the corner, the economy will be returned to its former glory, and you will be able to go back to reading about other depressing world news having nothing to do with COVID-19. Imagine the vacations that will be had, the summer trips to uncomfortably crowded destinations with no physical distancing, perhaps the long commutes to teachers' college courses. I think it's safe to say that there's nothing but positivity on the horizon for Year 27! ;)

You are an extraordinary guy. On behalf of your family, friends, and humanity in general: thanks for being around these last 27 years (not that you had a lot of choice in the matter). Our lives are all so much brighter with you in them. Here's to the next 27, and then hopefully at least 27 more after that, given the average Canadian lifespan...
